Losing a loved one to suicide is will change everything in your life. Everything can feel different, hard and strange, especially during the holidays. Traditions and yearly plans change and sometimes you just don’t feel like dealing with the stress of the season. This is normal and there is nothing wrong with you!
Missing your loved one(s) especially during this season is expected but can be an enjoyable time for you and your family in-spite of the passing of your beloved. You can find a new normal that works for you. take your time. Remember there is no wrong way to grieve. Here are some helpful ways to make it through a tough time of year for many survivors.
* Talk about your loved one and remember them in a positive light
* Make their favorite meal as apart of dinner
* Enjoy time alone doing something you enjoy
*Breathe , you deserve some alone time to process
*Volunteer at a shelter (helping others helps you
*Spent time with family or friends
*Allow yourself to grieve
*Make a list of the things you are grateful for that you shared with your beloved
*Make a donation on their behalf #lifematters
*Support another survivor by getting together
*Attend a support group meeting
*Take a trip and find a peaceful place to acknowledge and release your pain
